One of Europe’s (and the world’s) most popular city destinations, Rome in Italy is restricting tourist bus traffic to the city center and is increasing the prices coach tour companies must pay to bring tourists to the city. The new measures will be effective January 1st, 2019. Too many visitors in a small area is not always a pleasant experience, especially, if you happen to live in that area. When almost all of these visitors only come and go, take a few selfies, leave rubbish behind, have questionable manners (relative to the local culture), but also leave money in the region, residents may still become uninviting towards the visitors.
