Nextmove rents electric cars in Germany for road trips (and city tours)

Electric vehicles don’t sit in dealer showrooms waiting for customers, but most are sold before they roll out from the factory. People who would like to test drive an electric car won’t necessarily find vehicles easily. In Germany, car rental Nextmove has specialized in electric vehicles, renting e-cars in eight cities.

The German cities where electric vehicles can be rented are:

  • Arnstadt
  • Berlin
  • Dresden
  • Düsseldorf
  • Hamburg
  • Leipzig
  • München
  • Stuttgart

The company is planning to expand to more cities, and also to take other vehicles than cars into its fleet.

The available cars are (the selection varies slightly by city):

  • Tesla Model S, Tesla Model 3 (three imported Tesla Model 3 cars), Tesla Model X
  • Nissan Leaf II
  • Opel Ampera-E
  • Hyundai IONIQ
  • VW e-Golf
  • BMW i3 & i3s
  • Renault Zoe
  • Smart EQ
  • Jaguar I-PACE
  • Nissan e-NV200 (small van)
  • Renault Kangoo (minivan)

Rental prices favor long-term renting. The shortest period is two days. The price for a week is only slightly higher than for two days. The rental prices for all vehicles at the Nextmove’s web page. An opportunity to practice your German skills as well.
